With over 35 years of experience as a pragmatic and solutions focused corporate lawyer, Stephen has built a distinguished career advising businesses of all sizes – from entrepreneurial ventures to multinational corporations – on high-stakes transactions and strategic legal matters.

Stephen’s approach is straightforward: get the deal done efficiently, streamline complexity, and always put client interests first. He takes the time to understand each client’s objectives, motivations, and pain points. He then uses his extensive transactional expertise to craft tailored strategies that drive growth and success, whether negotiating a transformative acquisition, advising on a strategic disposal or launching a new joint venture.

Before joining Greenwoods to head up the Corporate & Commercial team, Stephen’s career spanned Europe, the Middle East, and other international markets. He started in the mailroom of a London law firm before rapidly advancing as a legal executive, solicitor, and lead adviser on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and strategic corporate initiatives across multiple sectors.

Stephen’s distinguished track record, business acumen, and ability to deftly navigate diverse cultures led to his role as global ambassador at his previous firm.

He is a passionate advocate, campaigning to raise awareness of mental health and empowering people to express vulnerability as a human strength.

In his personal time, Stephen enjoys cycling to stay fit, indulging his passions for travel, photography and exploring the wonders of nature. He is also a passionate home chef.
