Managing Associate
Amelia specialises in advising UK and non-UK domiciled, high net-worth individuals on their personal affairs. This includes preparing Wills including Inheritance Tax advice, Powers of Attorney and the creation and administration of trusts. Amelia’s work often involves liaising with third parties, such as investment advisers and accountants, ensuring all professional advisers’ advice is joined up, and clients’ objectives are achieved.
Amelia also advises executors and beneficiaries on probate matters, which are usually high-value and complex, and involve close attention to all possible Inheritance Tax reliefs which may be claimed but are often overlooked. Amelia’s role involves careful management of the relationships between family members who may have different interests. One of Amelia’s many strengths is listening to each individual and providing solutions with the aim of reaching a harmonious agreement.
Amelia, an experienced trustee, including of the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust, enjoys working with clients within the charities sector, including individuals looking to set up their own charity (either during their lifetime or on their death) and advising trustees of existing charities on matters that arise in connection with their operations.
With over ten years of post-qualification experience to draw on, Amelia’s approach combines high-quality technical advice with an engaging style and excellent service.
Amelia holds the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates and is is a fully qualified member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners.
